The Girls Come to Thailand!!

Yeah!! Shawn's girls came to Thailand over their Thanksgiving Break for a visit!! We met them at the airport in Bangkok and then tool a flight from Don Muang, the other airport in Bangkok, to Chiang Mai and then hired a taxi to drive us to Lampang, which is an hour drive. The girls were absolutely exhausted but excited to be in Thailand! We tried our best to get them into Lampang as quickly as possible because they had 3 flights from Salt Lake City to get to Bangkok. World Travelers they are!!

As soon as we got to the house we went for dinner at B1 Rice Soup and Megan was practically falling asleep during dinner! So we rushed them back to the house and to bed...we wanted them to get a good nights sleep because the next day we were going to the Thai Elephant Conservation Center Lampang to stay for 2 days with the mahouts (ma-hoots) and the elephants!!

So we woke early and got a ride to the center from Known (Non), a Thai friend tat has a car....Thanks Known!!
We were early so we looked around the place and let the excitement run wild in us!!

We got acquainted with the paperwork and into our new outfits and we were off to meet the mahouts and the elephants!! We learned how to get up onto the elephant, how to do tricks like picking up something and bending down and rolling onto tits side. We also got to bath the elephants and feed the lots!! We also participate some in the shows that they put on at the center. We visited the elephant hospital that they have there. Learned about why elephants are in the hospital.....mostly because they are malnourished....and we got to see 2 baby elephants!! Exhausting but such an amazing experience!!!



The girls loved it so much they want to do it again!! It is unbelievable that riding on an elephant fr 2 days can hurt your inner thighs sooo much!! Good Times!!
