The Girls do Chiang Mai!!!

For the first part of the trip we were in Lampang, for the last part we took the girls to Chiang Mai.....it is the second largest city in Thailand and very close to Lampang...about an hours bus ride away.

First time riding in the songthaew....which a red pick-up truck with benches in the back and it is covered...they are an easy transport option in Chiang Mai...


Megan at the Water Well Guest House where we stayed...well, we first went to this other guesthouse that we were told about and we were not happy with it...after staying there for one night...we had to because we got in late...we decided that Megan would sleep in one room with me and Shawn in the other with Evy...it was kinda gross..the bathrooms smelled horribly and it was very dingy...so after that we packed up and headed to the trusty Water Well....Shawn and I had stayed there last year and it is always a nice place to stay...it has hot water, tv, and is very clean...and only 50 baht more than the other place.....well worth it!!!


Us at Om Restaurant...our trusty vegetarian restaurant...my favorite place to have Kao Soi...a northern Thai Curry made of egg noodles...this is the best I have found....nothing compares!!! Good thing that the girls loved it too!!!

It was Loy Krathong time again...Loy Krathong is the festival where they give thanks to the water goddesses...it marks the start of harvest season of the rice....we caught a parade...actually the same parade that Shawn and I discovered last year!!


Very beautiful...but we suspect it is a gatoy...a boy-girl......hmmmmmm...
